Caregility Announces Release of Version 1.9 of iObserver Virtual Observation Application
Eatontown, N.J. – Nov. 19, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company moving the access point of care closer to the patient, announces the release of version 1.9 of its iObserver application, a continuous virtual observation and communications system for remotely monitoring at-risk patients. iObserver allows clinical teams to remotely observe up to 12 patient rooms on a single screen with two-way audio and video support through the Caregility Platform, a purpose-built, HIPAA-compliant telehealth ecosystem for the entire healthcare continuum.
Caregility leveraged thousands of hours of customer input to build new features and capability into the iObserver v1.9 release. The new version will enhance patient and provider experience and application flexibility with the goals of minimizing adverse events, easing provider burden, and reducing healthcare costs by enabling care teams to do more with less.
Costs associated with patient sitting are rarely reimbursed and often unbudgeted. With expenses for in-room patient sitters running into the millions, this can have a significant impact on a hospital’s bottom-line and direct care resources. One Caregility healthcare customer, after deploying iObserver, reported that in eight months of use their unbudgeted sitter hours dropped by 75% with no falls or adverse events.
iObserver enables cost-effective virtual observation across a broad spectrum of use cases, including but not limited to:
• Clinical deterioration/rapid response events • Fall prevention/elopement • COVID isolation room – bedside support and room visualization • Overflow capacity management • Risk to self, from others, or to others
“Caregility is committed to investing in accelerated development that takes into account the experience from both the clinical perspective and the patient perspective,” said Sudhir Ahuja, SVP of Product Development at Caregility. “The iObserver v1.9 release is a great example of taking that input and turning it into a reality for our customers.”
To see a demonstration of how iObserver can help your health system protect patients and drive down costs, as well as unique options we have to help you deal with rising COVID cases with our bedside application that turns any iPad in to a secure communications device in patient rooms, contact Caregility at (732) 440-8040, info@caregility.com or https://caregility.com/contact-us/.

Eatontown, N.J. – July 28, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company moving the access point of care closer to the patient, announces the release of version 1.6 of its patented UHETM telehealth platform. Caregility’s UHE platform is a comprehensive, HIPAA-compliant visual communications system that connects all patient and clinician environments into one universal service. iConsult Desktop webapp, which provides the ability to initiate calls from desktop computers to APSs as well as other desktop computers and mobile devices.
iConsult Bedside, a patient-facing application that turns a mobile device (iOS and Android) at the patient bedside into a UHE APS enables remote clinicians to communicate on demand with a patient or bedside staff. The app also offers patients options to request a video consult with clinicians and to initiate a video visit with loved ones without the need for a staff member to enter the room, thereby minimizing risk to caregivers working in COVID-19 environments.

Caregility Adds Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication to Telehealth Platform
Enhancements to the clinical collaboration platform improve security and usability for clinician and patient end users.
EATONTOWN, N.J., June 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on providing secure, reliable two-way audio and video communications for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, announces single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) functionality for its telehealth platform. SSO enhancements will allow end users to log into the platform using a single set of credentials to gain access to the various apps, websites, and data for which they have permissions. The feature improves security and system usability, as well as employee satisfaction by mitigating password fatigue. SSO enables organizations governed by HIPAA to increase control over user access to certain information and more easily enforce password change policies.
New MFA features similarly reinforce security. MFA will require Platform users to provide an additional factor to verify their identity beyond entering a password. This can include a code generated by a one-time email password (OTP), or a SMS message to a specific mobile phone. The additional security measure reduces the risk of compromised passwords, granting healthcare organizations an additional layer of protection against cybersecurity attack.
“As telehealth and remote engagement tools become ubiquitous in healthcare, ensuring the security of these patient engagement forums is paramount,” said Bin Guan, Caregility CTO. “Recent news regarding privacy shortcomings among widely used video conferencing platforms has heightened end-user awareness of potential security threats. The latest Platform enhancements have been implemented to reinforce provider and consumer confidence in the security of their information across Caregility’s entire ecosystem.”
The Platform is a comprehensive platform that provides video-enabled communications tools to empower clinicians, patients, care coordinators, family members, and virtual sitters with an intuitive, nonintrusive, and secure interface that can be used within a healthcare facility as well as remote, outpatient settings. The new SSO and MFA functionality demonstrates Caregility’s ongoing commitment to patient and clinician experience and security.

Caregility Ramps Up Production of Slimline Mobile Telehealth Carts
Spurred by increased demand for telehealth solutions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company continues to enhance offerings by delivering endpoints designed for maximum mobility and safety.
Eatontown, N.J. – May 20, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on providing secure, reliable, two-way audio and video communications for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, announces availability of the Caregility APS250C Slim Mobile Cart. The company has already shipped hundreds of units to hospitals across the nation that are looking for ways to leverage technology in their fight against COVID-19. At 69 inches high with a width and depth of under 18 inches, the minimalist design of the mobile telehealth cart offers maximum agility, enabling clinicians to bring the Access Point of Care System (APS) directly into any patient environment.
The purpose-built cart includes a 1080p full HD 20x zoom PTZ camera; an echo cancelling, noise reduction microphone and speaker; and 13-inch full HD LCD touch tablet with anti-microbial enclosure running Caregility’s patented software.
These carts were designed specifically for rapid deployment in a variety of patient environments for care of COVID-19 affected patients. The mobile telehealth carts eliminate the need for permanent hardware installation and are used to establish a virtual connection to care for patients, reducing the frequency of clinician staff exposure to COVID-19 and use of limited Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The carts have proven invaluable as provider organizations work to quickly scale virtual care operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Paired with Caregility’s cloud-based solutions, the carts are quickly activated for live use the same day they arrive.
“This pandemic has quickly changed how care is delivered, in turn, this created the need for rapid deployment of virtual care at the patient’s bedside for a variety of reasons,” said Caregility VP of Clinical Solutions Wendy Deibert. “Each of our solutions are designed to fit this very need – easy to deploy within hours, secure, simple to use and able to keep everyone connected in the time when social distancing is a must.”
Caregility has a complete line-up of telehealth carts and wall-mounted systems. These bedside access points of care can be used for any virtual care or clinical workflow. Available features include:
Far-end camera control to pan, tilt, and zoom
Presets for preferred camera positions
Far-end audio control of APS speaker and microphone
On-demand buttons at the APS to request a remote video session
IR lights and night vision
Proactive monitoring and management of APS to ensure high availability
Conferencing capabilities to add participants, including other clinicians, interpreters, and family members
Always on and available, and capable of extended call durations (hours/days)
