Caregility is a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on enabling the shortest and fastest path of care for patients with the right care giver and treatment plan. Leveraging our eight years of experience in clinical environments as part of our parent company, Yorktel, our core offering, the UHE Platform, is a purpose-built ecosystem for the entire healthcare continuum.
The UHE Platform provides secure, reliable two-way audio and video communication designed for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Today, Caregility supports 6,500 access points of care systems across the US. From ambulatory/acute/ICU/post-acute care settings to virtual care operation centers to patients in the home, Caregility is helping transform patient care delivery.
Created as a separate healthcare company in 2019, Caregility’s origins reside in its parent company, Yorktel, a 35+ year video communications company. Starting in 2011, Yorktel began applying video conferencing technology for telehealth applications.
At first, Yorktel approached healthcare like most other video conferencing companies, deploying off-the-shelf technology that was designed for enterprise spaces and expecting it to work the same in healthcare. When the technology did not perform well and limited the effectiveness of patient care through telehealth programs, Yorktel began developing a completely new visual communications platform with purpose built endpoints, all designed specifically for the unique requirements in healthcare. Yorktel identified the need for a scalable platform that could be used across all video use cases and would be highly available and reliable for the 24/7 always on and accessible requirements in healthcare.
Since any down time with video technology means delayed patient care, Yorktel flipped the traditional reactive service model in the enterprise space of “break/fix” to a new proactive model just for healthcare. Yorktel developed highly reliable endpoints that can be proactively monitored where any issues can be uncovered and addressed within minutes before there is any chance of disrupting or delaying patient care.
Building on that success, the dedicated healthcare team at Yorktel wanted to advance to another level by focusing on moving the access point of care closer to the patient using a common platform that enables agile and effective care to patients anywhere. Forming Caregility as a separate healthcare company was the best way to achieve those goals.
