Caregility Announces New Features in HIPAA Compliant iConsult Mobile App to help in fight against COVID-19
iConsult Mobile turns virtually any iOS or Android tablet into a virtual access point
Eatontown, N.J. – April 1, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on providing secure, reliable two-way audio and video communications for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, announces it has developed new features to address the challenges of using existing tablets as access points for virtual care in patient rooms. The new features enable secure remote calling into the patient’s room without the need for a staff member to enter the room to answer or launch the call. In addition, there is a soft touch call button that sends a request to clinical staff to virtually visit the patient. iConsult mobile is an extension of iConsult, Caregility’s virtual on-demand clinician application that gives full control of a video consult experience to providers. With iConsult Mobile, clinicians and family members can be included from virtually any mobile device.
Designed specifically for clinicians, iConsult Mobile is available for both iOS and Android devices. The application gives clinicians multiple options to initiate on-demand consults over a secure, HIPAA compliant connection to patients or other clinicians. From their mobile devices, clinicians can connect directly with patient bedside camera systems while maintaining complete far-end PTZ camera and audio control. Clinicians can also initiate care coordination with other clinicians both inside a health system or across to other health systems. And, clinicians can invite guests such as family members directly into video calls. If needed, all three options can be initiated within the same call.
“When we realized that our customers were using unsecured video solutions in COVID-19 patient rooms, we felt obligated to figure out a way to minimize the risk,” commented Caregility President and COO Mike Brandofino. “The entire company rallied with the guidance of our team of experienced clinical nurses to quickly develop features specifically designed to enable secure virtual care of patients while minimizing the need to enter patient rooms. We believe this will significantly help in the battle against COVID-19.”

Caregility Launches iConsult Mobile Telehealth App
iConsult Mobile anticipated to help COVID-19 patient screening and monitoring
Eatontown, N.J. – March 12, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on providing secure, reliable two-way audio and video communications for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, announces availability of the Caregility iConsult Mobile application. iConsult Mobile is an extension of iConsult, Caregility’s virtual clinician telehealth application that gives full control of a video consult experience. This includes far-end camera and audio controls and the ability to add other clinicians and family members on demand to any virtual consult with a patient at any location over any mobile device.
Designed specifically for clinicians, iConsult Mobile is available for both iOS and Android devices. The application gives clinicians multiple options to consult over a secure, HIPAA compliant connection to patients or other clinicians. Clinicians can start video consults from their mobile devices and connect directly with patient bedside camera systems while maintaining full far-end camera and audio control. Clinicians can also initiate care coordination with other clinicians both inside a health system or across to other health systems. And clinicians can invite guests such as family members directly into video calls. If needed, all three clinical workflows can be utilized within the same video call.

It is designed to ease communications and care coordination, particularly for on-demand consults or visits,” explained Wendy Deibert, EMBA, BSN, RN, VP of Clinical Solutions at Caregility. “Most other mobile video solutions are not focused on the care continuum (hospital to home) and have a tendency to slow down or complicate patient care delivery workflows.”

Multiple parties can join the same call and many of the same rich features found in iConsult are available in the mobile application, including full far-end camera and remote audio controls, access to camera bookmarked positions, addition of other participants while in a call, night vision, and doorbell announcement when joining a patient bedside.
“iConsult Mobile is the latest addition to the suite of solutions that are purpose built to address the unique requirements of clinical workflows,” commented Caregility President and COO Mike Brandofino. “It happens to be the perfect solution to help with remote screening and management of COVID-19 patients. We have therefore decided to make iConsult Mobile available at no cost to our health system customers during the current crisis. I would like to acknowledge our partner Pexip for contributing additional ports so that we can expand our capacity in response to the increased volume of calls expected. Caregility Helps Philips, Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion Bring Local Telehealth Services to Rural Veterans
The ATLAS program will make virtual care accessible to veterans in rural areas via telehealth-enabled healthcare pods built in existing VFW and Legion sites
EATONTOWN, N.J., Nov. 11, 2019 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company changing the point of care, today announced the company’s involvement in the ATLAS pilot project, an initiative to bring virtual care offerings from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to veterans in targeted rural areas.
ATLAS, which stands for Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations, is a collaboration between the VA, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), The American Legion and Philips, a leading health technology company, with support from additional healthcare vendors including Caregility, CareLink and Steelcase. Philips partnered with Steelcase to design, build and donate 8×8 enclosure rooms called pods to be placed on location at VFW halls and Legion posts. The healthcare pods offer veterans the convenience of consulting with their VA clinicians in a space closer to home as opposed to traveling to the nearest VA facility, which may be hours away. Using telehealth technology and equipment donated by Philips and Caregility combined with HIPAA-trained attendants provided by CareLink, the pods improve access to care for veterans in underserved areas where there are limited healthcare providers.
“Telehealth is vital to overcoming geographic barriers and increasing veteran access to care,” said Caregility president and COO Mike Brandofino. “The ATLAS program builds upon telehealth expansion efforts initiated by the VA MISSION Act, bringing more convenient options to our veterans and their families. Caregility is honored to be a part of those efforts in partnership with other companies that Dare to Care.”
An inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently at VFW Post 6786 in Eureka, Montana, the first VA ATLAS site. Additional installations are planned for VFW and Legion sites in Linesville, Pennsylvania; Los Banos, California; and Springfield, Virginia.
