Caregility Awards Scholarships to Future Healthcare Workers

EATONTOWN, N.J. (July 7, 2021) Caregility, a company dedicated to delivering care to wherever the patient is located through the use of its Caregility Virtual Care Platform, awarded seven scholarships to aspiring healthcare workers through the Caregility Cares Essential Worker Scholarship program. Originally announced as a five-scholarship program, Caregility capitalized on a partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing and support from the Washington Capitals to put together an online auction and raise money for a sixth scholarship based on initial program demand. A seventh scholarship was created through the generous donations of Caregility employees.

“Within a few weeks of announcing the Caregility Cares Essential Worker Scholarship, the number of students seeking financial assistance to pursue their degree quickly became apparent,” said Caregility CEO Ron Gaboury. “We were thrilled to be able to award five scholarships, but the thought of awarding seven was even better. We decided to host an online auction to generate additional funds. Thankfully, we already had a great partner in Chip Ganassi Racing, as well as some friends at the Washington Capitals. We looped them in on the idea and they were both quick to offer up some unique auction items. Between their assistance, the generous contributions of our employees and the support of auction bidders, we were able to fund two additional scholarships.”

Caregility received over 4,000 applications from aspiring healthcare workers between announcing the scholarship program in February 2021 and closing the application window on May 31. Each applicant was required to submit an essay of at least 500 words on what inspired them to pursue a career in a health-related field. The applications were reviewed by a panel of judges before finalists were selected.

Open to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students who are either healthcare workers or dependents of healthcare workers seeking a higher education degree in the field of medicine, the Caregility Cares Essential Worker Scholarship awarded six students with $5,000 scholarships each, with a seventh scholarship of $1,100 also awarded. The winners were Shobi Mathew, Adrianna Doucas, Michelle Dunwody, Jennifer Walker, Sonia Goyal, Kelly Renstrom and Imani Hill.

Yorktel and Caregility Wrap Up Frontline Healthcare Worker Recognition Program by Honoring One of Their Own

Eatontown, NJ (November 5, 2020) In a partnership that launched on September 4, 2020 with Chip Ganassi Racing, and throughout the 2020 NASCAR Playoffs, Yorktel and Caregility have used their respective sponsorship of the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, driven by former Daytona 500 and NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Champion Kurt Busch as a platform to honor the incredible contributions frontline healthcare workers have made throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each week throughout the series, an individual has been recognized by having their name placed on the passenger side of the car driven by Kurt Busch and having the opportunity to meet Kurt virtually in a pre-race video conference. Individuals that have been recognized include:

As the final race approaches on Sunday, November 8th in Phoenix, Yorktel and Caregility have chosen to honor the memory of Lilly Wang, the much loved and admired wife of the company’s founder, Dr. York Wang, and to raise awareness of, and support for all those who have been impacted by ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

“It has been a tremendous experience to have the chance to recognize all these individuals,” commented Ron Gaboury, CEO of Yorktel and Caregility. “Each person represents the broader community of essential workers and private citizens across the nation that have worked tirelessly in the battle against the COVID-19 virus and breast cancer.

“This week we chose to bring the program to a close by honoring Lilly, and the brave fight she ultimately lost against ALS. We hope others will join us by reaching out to their local ALS Chapter to learn how they can help in the fight against this terrible disease,” concluded Gaboury.

“It is our hope that one day, ALS be a disease of the past. But until that day comes, The ALS Association will relentlessly pursue its mission to help people living with ALS and to leave no stone unturned in search for the cure of this progressive neurodegenerative disease,” commented Kristen Cocoman, President and CEO, The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter. “We could not continue this fight without the support of organizations like Yorktel, who have contributed their time and funds to our mission. We are very appreciative of their support and look forward to a continued partnership in the search for a cure.””

Caregility Launches Recognition Program for Frontline Healthcare Workers

Eatontown, New Jersey (Sept 16, 2020) – To honor the incredible contributions frontline healthcare workers have made throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Caregility announces the launch of Caregility Cares, a program designed to recognize individuals who have worked tirelessly to care for, protect and restore the health of patients impacted by the coronavirus.

Caregility Cares awardees will be recognized on the company’s website and in public announcements, and a donation will be made by Caregility to a non-profit selected by the awardee. Additionally, as part of Caregility’s partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing, each awardee will have their name placed on the passenger side of the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE driven by former Daytona 500 and NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Champion Kurt Busch for one of five races in the 2020 NASCAR Playoffs.

On Saturday, September 12th, Caregility was pleased to recognize the first Caregility Cares awardee, Michelle Lemke, RN, Assistant Nurse Manager in the ICU at Mary Washington Hospital (MWH) in Virginia. Lemke was on the frontline supporting ICU staff from the very beginning when tensions were high as the team faced the uncertainty of COVID-19. Michelle did an amazing job supporting her team, calming their fears and helping nurses focus on what they do every day: care for patients in need.

“What an honor to be recognized as the face of MWH ICU nursing providing care during the COVID pandemic,” said Lemke. “Just like it takes a team of NASCAR professionals to work together in hopes of a victory, it takes a team of healthcare professionals to work together in hopes of bringing a victory of restored health for those critically affected by the COVID virus. Our nurses are exemplary in the care they provide to our patients and rose to the challenge when the pandemic hit. We will keep fighting the battle over COVID together!”

“It is a distinct honor to be able to call out some of the heroes that have helped to fight this pandemic,” commented Ron Gaboury, CEO of Caregility. “Michelle is just one of many individuals who have worked tirelessly this year to overcome the impact this terrible virus has had on co-workers, patients, families and friends. I humbly salute her efforts and look forward to the opportunity to recognize additional healthcare workers through the Caregility Cares program.”

The next Caregility Cares awardee will be announced on Friday, September 18th, 2020. Follow Caregility Cares announcements at www.caregility.com, on LinkedIn, or on Twitter.

Caregility and Oneview Healthcare Partner to Deliver Inpatient Telehealth in the US and Australia

Eatontown, N.J. – Aug. 6, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company moving the access point of care closer to the patient, and Oneview Healthcare, a care experience company focused on providing digital tools for patients and care teams, announce a partnership to deliver Caregility’s telehealth applications on Oneview’s Care Experience Platform in the US and Australia.

With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing, inpatient telehealth capability is a critical part of virtual care programs for healthcare systems. Strategic infrastructure is required to replace the tactical solutions deployed in the early days of the crisis. This partnership will enable customers to scale inpatient telehealth across their hospitals cost-effectively, enabling virtual rounding, virtual consults and virtual visitation by friends and family while mitigating virus spread within the hospital.

The partnership will initially make Caregility’s iConsult Mobile Bedside application, a purpose-built tool for the unique requirements of inpatient telehealth, available on Oneview’s Android touchscreen devices. iConsult enables clinicians to connect virtually over a secure, HIPAA compliant video connection to patients. Auto-answer capability enables virtual rounding without requiring the patient to answer a call or a staff member to enter the room to launch the call, reducing staff exposure and PPE use. Clinicians can invite guests such as family members or interpreters – or both – directly into video calls, helping providers keep families and care teams connected amid visitation restrictions.

Oneview customers will benefit from access to Caregility’s versatile telehealth platform leveraging their Oneview equipment, expanding telehealth services in the acute setting. The partnership will enable Caregility customers to scale their inpatient telehealth capabilities on Oneview’s cost-effective bedside hardware. The partnership marks the latest step in Caregility’s international expansion into Australian and Middle Eastern markets to meet the growing need for telehealth solutions that can keep healthcare workers safe and patients engaged as the world grapples with challenges brought on by the pandemic.

“All of our customers have sought virtual care solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic to enable communication with patients, “ said Oneview’s CEO, James Fitter. “Our partnership with Caregility will allow us to offer an end-to-end virtual care solution, designed specifically for clinician and patient needs. Caregility’s dedicated healthcare focus aligns with our own and we target the same customer segment – leading healthcare systems – making them the ideal partner.”

“This partnership provides a way for healthcare providers in the US and Australia to quickly expand remote observation and interaction with patients while limiting the need for staff to enter the room,” said Caregility’s President and COO, Mike Brandofino. “We are happy to partner with Oneview to help our customers protect caregivers from exposure while increasing the ability to provide care for patients remotely, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Caregility & Cloudbreak Health for Telehealth Interpretation

Eatontown, N.J. – July 30, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company moving the access point of care closer to the patient, announces integration with Cloudbreak Health, a leading unified telemedicine and video medical interpretation solutions provider. The partnership enables Martti, Cloudbreak’s video remote interpretation (VRI) services, within Caregility’s virtual care platform to offer patients and providers an integrated solution for overcoming language barriers in healthcare.

Cloudbreak ensures that limited English proficient (LEP) and deaf or hard of hearing patients and their providers have fast and easy access to high-quality language services with interpreters who are trained to provide culturally competent communication to support clinical care teams and workflows seamlessly. The offering now operates within the Caregility platform that empowers clinicians, patients, care coordinators, family members and virtual sitters with secure, intuitive, video-enabled communications tools that can be used within a healthcare facility as well as remote, outpatient settings.

The integrated VRI service supports language access compliance by providing healthcare organizations with on-demand, 24/7 access to remote healthcare qualified interpreters when on-site assistance may not be available. The telehealth-enabled solution allows interpreters to pick up on non-verbal cues and sign language during patient engagement, providing a better human connection that reduces communication errors and improves patient satisfaction, experience and outcomes.

“We are very excited about the Caregility and Martti partnership,” said Michelle Happer, EdD, System Director of Diversity and Patient Care Civil Rights, Language Services, at Florida-based Lee Health System, a mutual client of Caregility and Cloudbreak. “Adding language interpretation services to our telehealth/virtual provider visits has greatly enhanced quality of care. In a diverse environment such as ours, this integration is key to providing an added level of patient safety and protection. It’s a seamless, user-friendly, cloud-based solution that greatly improves patient/provider communication and patient health outcomes.”

“Communication is the number one diagnostic tool for providers and the number one empowerment tool for patients,” said Cloudbreak CEO Jamey Edwards. “It is critical to building trust, rapport and understanding. We see integration with Caregility’s platform as a unique opportunity to improve access to these vital services for patients and providers across the care continuum.”

Cloudbreak’s proven expertise in VRI make them an ideal addition to our growing list of integrated telehealth solutions,” said Caregility’s Chief Strategy Officer, Pete McLain. “We’re excited to bring this valuable offering to Caregility clients to support their efforts to reduce healthcare disparities by removing language barriers in care delivery.”
