Caregility’s UHE platform is a comprehensive, HIPAA-compliant visual communications system that connects all patient and clinician environments into one universal service. Caregility Adds Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication to Telehealth Platform
Enhancements to the clinical collaboration platform improve security and usability for clinician and patient end users.
EATONTOWN, N.J., June 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on providing secure, reliable two-way audio and video communications for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, announces single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) functionality for its telehealth platform. SSO enhancements will allow end users to log into the platform using a single set of credentials to gain access to the various apps, websites, and data for which they have permissions. The feature improves security and system usability, as well as employee satisfaction by mitigating password fatigue. SSO enables organizations governed by HIPAA to increase control over user access to certain information and more easily enforce password change policies.
New MFA features similarly reinforce security. MFA will require Platform users to provide an additional factor to verify their identity beyond entering a password. This can include a code generated by a one-time email password (OTP), or a SMS message to a specific mobile phone. The additional security measure reduces the risk of compromised passwords, granting healthcare organizations an additional layer of protection against cybersecurity attack.
“As telehealth and remote engagement tools become ubiquitous in healthcare, ensuring the security of these patient engagement forums is paramount,” said Bin Guan, Caregility CTO. “Recent news regarding privacy shortcomings among widely used video conferencing platforms has heightened end-user awareness of potential security threats. The latest Platform enhancements have been implemented to reinforce provider and consumer confidence in the security of their information across Caregility’s entire ecosystem.”
The Platform is a comprehensive platform that provides video-enabled communications tools to empower clinicians, patients, care coordinators, family members, and virtual sitters with an intuitive, nonintrusive, and secure interface that can be used within a healthcare facility as well as remote, outpatient settings. The new SSO and MFA functionality demonstrates Caregility’s ongoing commitment to patient and clinician experience and security.

The carts have proven invaluable as provider organizations work to quickly scale virtual care operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Paired with Caregility’s cloud-based solutions, the carts are quickly activated for live use the same day they arrive.
“This pandemic has quickly changed how care is delivered, in turn, this created the need for rapid deployment of virtual care at the patient’s bedside for a variety of reasons,” said Caregility VP of Clinical Solutions Wendy Deibert. “Each of our solutions are designed to fit this very need – easy to deploy within hours, secure, simple to use and able to keep everyone connected in the time when social distancing is a must.”

The new features enable secure remote calling into the patient’s room without the need for a staff member to enter the room to answer or launch the call. The application gives clinicians multiple options to initiate on-demand consults over a secure, HIPAA compliant connection to patients or other clinicians. Caregility Launches iConsult Mobile Telehealth App
iConsult Mobile anticipated to help COVID-19 patient screening and monitoring
Eatontown, N.J. – March 12, 2020 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company focused on providing secure, reliable two-way audio and video communications for any device and clinical workflow, in both inpatient and outpatient settings, announces availability of the Caregility iConsult Mobile application. iConsult Mobile is an extension of iConsult, Caregility’s virtual clinician telehealth application that gives full control of a video consult experience. This includes far-end camera and audio controls and the ability to add other clinicians and family members on demand to any virtual consult with a patient at any location over any mobile device.
Designed specifically for clinicians, iConsult Mobile is available for both iOS and Android devices. The application gives clinicians multiple options to consult over a secure, HIPAA compliant connection to patients or other clinicians. Clinicians can start video consults from their mobile devices and connect directly with patient bedside camera systems while maintaining full far-end camera and audio control. Clinicians can also initiate care coordination with other clinicians both inside a health system or across to other health systems. And clinicians can invite guests such as family members directly into video calls. If needed, all three clinical workflows can be utilized within the same video call.
“iConsult Mobile is a purpose-built mobile app with patients, families, and clinicians in mind. It is designed to ease communications and care coordination, particularly for on-demand consults or visits,” explained Wendy Deibert, EMBA, BSN, RN, VP of Clinical Solutions at Caregility. “Most other mobile video solutions are not focused on the care continuum (hospital to home) and have a tendency to slow down or complicate patient care delivery workflows.”
While clinicians need to utilize iConsult Mobile to ensure secure HIPAA compliant connections and to have extra healthcare-specific features and controls, patients and other guests do not need to download the app. They can easily join video consults by clicking a link in their browsers. Multiple parties can join the same call and many of the same rich features found in iConsult are available in the mobile application, including full far-end camera and remote audio controls, access to camera bookmarked positions, addition of other participants while in a call, night vision, and doorbell announcement when joining a patient bedside.
“iConsult Mobile is the latest addition to the suite of solutions that are purpose built to address the unique requirements of clinical workflows,” commented Caregility President and COO Mike Brandofino. “It happens to be the perfect solution to help with remote screening and management of COVID-19 patients. We have therefore decided to make iConsult Mobile available at no cost to our health system customers during the current crisis. I would like to acknowledge our partner Pexip for contributing additional ports so that we can expand our capacity in response to the increased volume of calls expected. We are proud to support those working on the front lines as they battle COVID-19.”

Caregility Helps Philips, Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion Bring Local Telehealth Services to Rural Veterans
The ATLAS program will make virtual care accessible to veterans in rural areas via telehealth-enabled healthcare pods built in existing VFW and Legion sites
EATONTOWN, N.J., Nov. 11, 2019 – Caregility, a clinical collaboration and communications company changing the point of care, today announced the company’s involvement in the ATLAS pilot project, an initiative to bring virtual care offerings from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to veterans in targeted rural areas.
ATLAS, which stands for Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations, is a collaboration between the VA, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), The American Legion and Philips, a leading health technology company, with support from additional healthcare vendors including Caregility, CareLink and Steelcase. Philips partnered with Steelcase to design, build and donate 8×8 enclosure rooms called pods to be placed on location at VFW halls and Legion posts. The healthcare pods offer veterans the convenience of consulting with their VA clinicians in a space closer to home as opposed to traveling to the nearest VA facility, which may be hours away. Using telehealth technology and equipment donated by Philips and Caregility combined with HIPAA-trained attendants provided by CareLink, the pods improve access to care for veterans in underserved areas where there are limited healthcare providers.
“Telehealth is vital to overcoming geographic barriers and increasing veteran access to care,” said Caregility president and COO Mike Brandofino. “The ATLAS program builds upon telehealth expansion efforts initiated by the VA MISSION Act, bringing more convenient options to our veterans and their families. Caregility is honored to be a part of those efforts in partnership with other companies that Dare to Care.”
An inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently at VFW Post 6786 in Eureka, Montana, the first VA ATLAS site. Additional installations are planned for VFW and Legion sites in Linesville, Pennsylvania; Los Banos, California; and Springfield, Virginia.
